Should I buy Life Insurance?

Life Insurance offers:

Financial protection for loved ones. This is the main reason to buy life insurance. It provides peace of mind that your family won’t be left financially struggling if you die. You can choose a larger value term policy to cover mortgages or other large bills or a smaller Final Expense policy to cover your final arrangements so your family doesn’t have to worry about things during their time of grief.

Cash value. If you buy a permanent life insurance policy such as whole life insurance, it  has a cash value component that grows over time. You can choose to use the cash value while you’re alive to fund things such as college tuition, or to pay other bills.

Tax benefits. Any cash value growth is tax deferred. Your beneficiaries will not pay taxes when they receive the benefits.

There is an argument that life insurance is too expensive. Compare the cost of the monthly premium to the cost of a pizza.  Then ask yourself, is it too expensive?
